Landlord Disclosure Statement Simplified

A standardised retail tenancy disclosure statement has been developed for Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Currently, landlords who own and operate multiple premises in different states are required to use different forms of disclosure statement for each state which disclose different information.  The standardised disclosure statement will make things simpler for landlords and in some states it will also expand the disclosures required to be given to tenants.

The new disclosure statement is expected to be in place by 1 January 2011.
